Aloha mai kākou! I’m Yoshi Tanaka.

I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan but currently live in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. I started off taking simple ocean photography, but I realized that there is so much more to capture in this paradise we call Hawai’i. So whenever, wherever I have a camera, I try to bring those beautiful views to you. With that being said, I really hope that my photos can make you think “what can we do today to preserve the beautiful nature and sights we have here in Hawaiʻi?”

My photography journey has come a long way. My adventures are always spontaneous and I never expect to capture anything. Some of my favorite locations are Sandy Beach on the east shore of Oʻahu and Waimea Bay on the north shore of Oʻahu. In the mean time, I am also an avid bodysurfer and beachgoer. I love being in the water and trying find ways to do my part to take care of nature so we can all enjoy the beauty for years to come.

I’m so honored to have my work and photos featured online for Surfgirl Magazine, Slyde Handboards, HVN Apparel and in print in the inaugural first edition of HiHeyHello magazine celebrating women’s outdoor culture.

Mahalo!
